pictures!

I have received my new charger!!! So nice. So I will take you on a brief tour.

Notice the beautiful green turf. Everybody's dream for the front of their house. Well honestly it was a little helpful. "Ours is the one with the great turn front steps, you can't miss it."

This is our back yard. You see the corner of the garage. Comes with a nice hill to roll down. But seriously. It's a nice size.

Open concept. So nice.

appliances!

Our appliances came today. So pretty. And heavy. But I didn't have to lift them so no complaints here. I'm so excited to try out the oven - we got a convection oven for a better price than the regular oven was, hopefully I like it.

Now I'm sad our cupboards don't come until the end of January.

babies and men wrecking things

So it has been a while since my last blog. And I will make an excuse. I wanted to put up pictures with my post. My baby boy ate my computer charger. Or tried to. The charger did not like his attempts. And the pictures are on the computer of which the charger that is angry with Caedmon charges. Alas, this post will not have pictures. I have given up waiting for my new charger to come before posting. (Ok, the charger costs 99 dollars at future shop or I could be patient and order it on ebay for 40 and that includes shipping. The choice is obvious. So the wait began.  I would be patient. And that lasted two days. My wonderful and beautiful sister-in-law has loaned me a laptop.)

So my baby wrecked my charger.

And my husband, he wrecked a wall.

Which is a good thing.

Open concept anyone? Yes please! I'll take one.

So my kitchen is now in my living room... or they share. And that is awesome.  Thanks to two brother, a father and a husband I have the open concept house that I preferred. And it looks great. Along with a beam to support the ceiling, they have also enlarged the bathroom (as well as adding new insulation and drywall, which meant ripping out the old insulation... not that there was much and drywall... which there was and it was built to last. Apparently drywall in 1957 was meant to stay up.), the floors are closer to being even throughout and the electrical is getting oh so close to being done. I'm sure they've done more too which I've probably neglected to mention, but it will come up in the future.

Now we just have a garage full of garbage to get rid of.

Buying A House

Such a grown up thing to do. But we're finished school, married and have a kid, so maybe we are grown up now. After a few weeks of ups and downs and lots and lots of phone calls, looking at the house, going back to the house, measuring the house, taking pictures of the house, and questions, lots of questions, it's ours. We were handed the key (yes, just one) on Wednesday.
The house would not be considered pretty on the inside (or the outside... plain maybe), and I'm not just saying that in comparison to the $400,000 show homes we looked at. There is carpet in the kitchen. And we're not neat people. We have spilled orange juice on our floor more time then I'd like to admit (and by we, I do not mean me), along with countless other liquids and non liquids that I would not want to try to clean out of carpet.

So after 2 days of owning, the carpets are out, the kitchen is gone, some walls are down and it's a bit of a dusty mess, but it looks so much better.
Heading to Ikea this weekend!

Check out some before photos (subpar iPhone photos, but you'll get the gist.)
