Me and My Chair

So. If you knew me really, really well. As in lived with me, listed to my every idea that popped into my head. Were with me through all my obsessions, opinions and future plans, you would know that I wanted a chair and a half chair. Ok. So maybe you have to be my husband, or some unlucky bystander. But it was such an unattainable goal, I need to get rich first goal, that I didn't make a big deal about it.

And then I moved to Medicine Hat. And in Medicine Hat there is a facebook group called "Medicine Hat Garage Sale." It's a fun group. I have bought more than one thing from it, including a couple items of clothing, really cheap robeeze for Caed, a diaper bag, and now.....

A chair and a half.

How wonderful.

You guys. It was $35. And I snatched it from someone else because I'm a unbusy person. I will admit to feeling a little bit guilty. Because she wanted it first. But I could get it first and the seller was desperate to get rid of things as fast as possible. So, because my evening schedule is basically work on the house or don't, I went a picked it up an hour after I saw it. For $35.

I will admit to being quite nervous as to what the condition of this chair would be. They can run anywhere from $300 to $1000. Which is silly for a chair. Just silly. But they're wonderful, so obviously people buy them. Anyway,  you can imagine my apprehension. What was I getting myself into? Was this a scam (ok, doubtful but I have a great imagination)? Adding to it was the profile picture of the seller... tongue anyone? But she was a really nice girl, and I think the chair is beautiful. I'll admit there is a slight smoke smell in the cushions, but nothing that a carpet cleaner can't get out.

Right?! The stripes even match up on the cushions. You shall be read in so often you don't even realize it.

In other news, the front of our house it very white. White ceilings, walls, cupboards and husbands.

That's the living room in all its... white.

Sanding is dusty, messy, tiring and not all that much fun. I'm a wimp so I got out of it. It is definitely a job in which having muscles helps.

Now don't get too excited, because it's not actually installed, it's just set in the room, but Caed's room is officially painted and the flooring is acclimatizing. I think it looks beautiful. Trim can only add to it's gorgeousness.

That flooring looks great in Caed's room - the finished room will be "amazing". :) Course, after all your hard work, the whole house will be amazing. Can't wait for the "big reveal".
